We must leave the world of thought behind, sail away from the old "life", embark on a new adventure. If we don't, we are missing our lives, moment-by-moment. If we do, we don't know where the adventure might take us and, for to the thinking mind, this is frightening.
But fear is but a thought, an amalgamation of thoughts, a layering of our own perceived inadequacies and fears with the in-built, hard-wired, fear of change. And, yet, all these things are only thoughts.
That is why I keep saying that we are at our best when we are not thinking. When we are thinking, we're not at the great party of life... at all.
This means that your very life depends on your choosing to not think or, more to the point and considerably more effortless, immersing yourself in what you are actually sensorily experiencing in the present moment, what you're actually seeing, feeling, hearing, smelling and tasting, free of any judgement whatsoever.
We must practice being non-judgemental. If it's raining this morning, it's not a "bad day", it's a day, a series of nows in which we have the opportunity to fully experience. If it's sunny, it's not a "beautiful day", it's a day, a series of nows...
The beauty of practicing being non-judgemental is that, sooner or later, we stop judging ourselves and that is liberating.
Choose to experience today, moment-by-moment, by paying attention to what you're simply seeing, feeling, hearing, smellig and tasting. Choose to pay attention to those with whom you interact today in exactly the same way.
Don't judge, just experience. And, when you feel your mind wandering into judgement - as it will - take a nice big breath and experience it, press the reset button and start experiencing the next now.
