Everything you thought about you, this world, how it works and your place in it... is wrong.
When we are thinking, we are divorced from reality - the reality of who you are, how the world really works and your indivisible place in it.
As we've explored repeatedly, we're at our best when not thinking. The reverse is obviously also the case: we're at our worst when we're thinking. But even that is to understate the significance of thought.
Thought saps your energy. Thought blocks your energy. Thought damages your vital physical systems, leading to illness. Thought disconnects you from the real world and who you really are. Thought is responsible for you missing your life, utterly and completely.
You cannot simply decide "I'm not going to think anymore" - we're built to think and we're wired to that it's thinking that sets us apart!
And you'll discover when you start meditating, that you're thinking more than you ever thought! It feels like your mind is running riot. Of course, it's the awareness that comes with starting to meditate that wakes you up to the fact that you've been sleeping in a haze of thought.
The real revalation that comes from recent research is that you don't have to decide or choose to stop thinking. You will stop thinking the more you meditate - it's simply a function of how meditation restructures the parts of your brain that engage with reality.
The more you engage with reality, the less you think - to the point where you'll be flowing in reality most of the time every day. You know what you have to do.
