This Week's Reflection

If you're wondering when the right moment will arrive for you to take whatever action you might have in mind... you're thinking about it.

Wondering is thinking and, like all thinking, it will lead to overthinking: wondering leads to worrying and worrying leads to stress.

You will always know when it's the right moment when you're present. You'll simply know. More than that, you'll know exactly what to do and how to do it. And, even more than that, you'll do it with least effort.

Let's look at it from a different perspective. What if you're a procrastinator? Or, more to the point, what if your think that you're a procrastinator?

Well, on the one hand, thinking makes it so - thinking makes everything so. On the other, you may well not be procrastinating, you may be simply waiting for the right moment or, dare I say it, the perfect moment to act.

How will you know the difference? Well, as we've just said, when you're present, when you're in the zone, you just know. And the world of difference between knowing and thinking is something that you can actually feel in your bones.

At the risk of repeating myself, we're at our very best when we're not thinking. When we're in that state, we simply are. We need to let ourselves be.

This Week's Quick Tip

As today's Reflection suggests, right at the end, let yourself be.

In practice, what does that mean?

You could sit still and watch the world go by for a few minutes; you could sit, close your eyes, and appreciate your gentle breath; you could look up and see the sky (most people are down because they're looking down!); you could close your eyes and listen.

And don't tell me that you don't have the time to sit and close your eyes. If you're a commuter, commuting is the perfect opporunity (unless you're the one that's driving!); if you're walking or close to a window, you can always look up; this evening, after dinner, for a few minutes you could sit without the television; you could turn off your 'phone!

Choices, choices, choices - living you life like you mean it is all about choice.
