This Week's Reflection

 

In last week's video, we talked about what I described as "tales of woe". Such tales are perpetuated by how we talk to ourselves. And, as you'll notice the more aware you become, we talk to ourselves a lot. And, just like our repetitive normal crazy thoughts, what we say to ourselves is repetitive, normal, crazy.

 

Self-talk is simply the noise created by repetitive whirring of the automatic pilot, background noise that divorces us from the reality of the moment. Black noise as distinct from white noise!

 

The more aware we become - and, remember, the journey that you are on is, first and foremost, a journey in awareness - the more aware we are of what we're saying to ourselves and how we say it. How, as so many people tell me, we "beat ourselves up".

 

The pain stops when we stop beating ourselves!

 

Now, you don't have to wrestle with this self-talk, you don't have to struggle to stop it. It simply evaporates, like mist in the morning sun, as our mind clears. Clarity produces clarity.

 

So, what's today's message? As always, we need to meditate, it connects us or, perhaps, reconnects us(!) with the reality of the moment. And, in the beauty of the moment there is only... the beauty of the moment - all is well.

 

 

 

This Week's Quick Tip

 

Every-so-often today, stop for a few moments and reflect on how you feel about yourself and as to what extent how you feel has been or is being influenced by how you're talking to yourself.

 

Just be aware of it. That will do. You don't have to attempt to stop any inappropriate self-talk - it will stop, sooner or later, with regular meditation and mini-meditation.

 

Sooner, the more you meditate!!
