Everyone who embarks on my online program, The Psychology of Success, expresses great excitement right at the outset and, then, amazement as results "fall into their lap". They have, to use the title of this week's video, set sail out into the open seas of what life really can be like.
But, when we head out into the open sea we do so with the understanding that, at times, that wide open sea can get very choppy indeed. As someone said to me recently, "I'd have drowned under life's big waves were it not for my meditation and my understanding of how the world really works".
Life gets choppy! Even the small challenges of everyday life can get under our skin and cloud us from the fact that we can sail life's great ocean effortlessly. But those small challenges only get under our skin when we let them. And we'll let them automatically, as a matter of course, unless we make the choice to remind ourselves as to who we really are, how the world really works and what we can really and effortlessly achieve.
We need to remind ourselves constantly because life's ebb and flow can have a similar effect on the flow of our own energy. We need to keep our minds engaged in the here and now, our energy high.
How can we do this?
Well, obviously, we must meditate every day or, at least, aim to meditate every day - if we miss a day or two, it is what it is, as long as we maintain a regular practice.
But life is lived in moments and, from one moment to the next, the energy of the environment in which we find ourselves changes, the energy of those we encounter moment to moment impacts our energy. That's why we must keept our energy high.

Flowing energy means fluctuating energy - we're in a state of flux all the time. That's why we need to keep our energy high.
To guard against your energy dropping and, perhaps, most importantly, in today's heated moments, look - I mean literally look - beyond your current situation, settle your gaze on something beautiful and simply breathe in its beauty.
Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes: a coffee mug that one of your children painted, a flower, a passing cloud, the back of your own hand... the point is, you'll find beauty when you choose to find it and, in finding it, you'll settle yourself back into a high-energy flow.
