This Week's Reflection

 

You already know what I'm about to tell you, it's just that you keep forgetting about it: you are going to die.

 

And your so-called everyday life is littered with the evidence of your forgetfulness: did you wake up this morning and fully and unreservedly give thanks for the fact that you wokr up this morning? Did you enjoy the last couple of minutes before your started reading this? Did you greet your loved ones today like they are your loved ones?

 

Are you living this moment like you mean it?

 

This now is your life - your life isn't going to start when you experience the perfect moment that you have committed to your subconscious. This is a perfect moment. You are alive and you have the opportunity to live this moment, unreservedly, to the full, no holds barred.

 

We don't need to remember that we're going to die. In fact, we're wired to not remember it. But, it the process, we're also wired to forget to live this moment like we mean it. As a result, the essence of your life slips by as you blindly think about anything and everything.

 

So, I won't ask you as to whether or not you're living this moment to the full. This is a question that you need to keep asking yourself.

 

 

 

This Week's Quick Tip

 

Take your time. For now, you've plenty of it. Take extra time to do the little things because it is the little things that matter - they, together, compose the very essence of your life, right here, right now.

 

And, later on during the course of this wonderful day in your life, when you (inevitably) find that you have once again forgotten to enjoy yourself, pinch yourself, slow down, take that extra time to savour the wonder of, for starters, breathing in and out.
