This Week's Reflection

 

We really do need to reflect on the importance of doing what it takes to wrest control of our state of mind from the imposter, otherwise known in cognitive psychology as the Conceptual Self, who literally dictates our "experience" of "life" - both words in "" because, when we use our minds normally, we neither experience nor live... we exist.

 

Fundamental to living your life to the full is the experience - the real experience - of how it feels to be fully alive. This is, qualitatively speaking, a world apart from how we would otherwise normally drag ourselves (often kicking and screaming) through our day.

 

Let me put this in starker terms: this is a matter of life and death. Using our minds normally, we're dead to the world - little wonder that the world is in the mess it's in... too many normal minds perpetrating too many normal things. When we take control of how we pay attention to the here and now, we wake up, we become alive.

 

And that, for starters, is why we need to meditate or, as this week's video puts it, it's "Reason #1"!

 

Of course, there are many knock-on effects on taking control of your state of mind, your state of being. And these are Reasons #2, etc... which we will explore over the next couple of weeks in advance of three Thursdays, starting Thursday November 9th, when over the course of thoe three weeks, I'll provide you with the kind of training that encapsulates everything that we all need to know to live our best life... now.

 

 

 

This Week's Quick Tip

 

Watch yourself today. That may sound strange. After all, who's watching who?!

 

But you need to be aware of your behaviour, aware of how you feel, aware of the impact you are or aren't having on those around you and what's going on.

 

You might discover that you're one of the normal crazy people. But even that discovery would be a step in the right direction - you would become aware.
