This Week's Reflection

I'm picking up on last week's focus on routine. Re-read that sentence! Focus on routine. Focus on routine as if what you are doing is a unique event in your life which, of course, it is. You have never before taken the breath that you are taking now, nor will you ever take it again.

And, when you're sitting next to your loved one, watching the TV, having a meal or having an arguement, remember how special they are and how precious the moment is. Don't waste, never waste a moment.

This week's Video focuses on taking a sip of coffee. But every little thing that we do each day is potentially a point for focus - the potentiality of it becomes fact when you choose to make it so.

I mentioned Mihály Csíkszentmihályi's Flow last week. This week I commend Thich Nhat Hanh's The Miracle of Mindfulness to you. The moment you open this little book you'll know exactly why I am suggesting it.

The course of our life doesn't change in big moments - it changes in moments. And all moments are potentially equal. Again, potentiality translating into fact is down to how you're paying attention and whether or not what is actually happening in any given moment is an opportunity for you - in other words, a synchronicity. We've covered that one in detail recently.

The point is, we need to continuously put our best foot forward. We don't need to strive to do it - it's effortless if you have bothered to do the little that it takes each morning to tune yourself in to the reality of the moment and, indeed, the reality and enormity of your own inner power.

RECOMMENDED PODCAST

Let's go deeper into the whole idea of experiencing one moment at a time. It is the key to you quite literally transforming your life. This week's suggested podcast episode does just that. If you've half-an-hour to spare or, indeed, 30mins to invest in yourself, settle down and have a listen.

This Week's Quick Tip

You will find yourself with someone important to you at some point today. Even if you're completely on your own for the entire day, you will still find yourself in that situation. After all, remember, you are the most important person in your life.

In these important moments, appreciate. Appreciation is more than gratitude, it runs deeper and, if we have taken the trouble to tune ourselves in, we feel it - we feel it emotionally and physically.

So, quick tip: appreciate those with whom you spend precious moments today.
