THE MIND BOGGLES!! |
Change Your Life | April 20 2023 No. 805 |
I told you last week that I'd coming back to the issue (yes, the issue!) of wanting - that's what we're exploring in this week's video.
"I don't know what I want" - words I have heard innumerable times over the last 27yrs. At the very least, it's better to hear those words than the alternative... "I want X, Y & X" (and, to misquote the late great Freddy Mercury... "I want it now!".
When people tell me that they know what they want, I can immediately translate that into "This is what I think I want" - it's inevitable that we should use our (normal thinking) points of reference for what passes for happiness and success. And it is the means by which we both blinker ourselves and limit our opportunities.
But today's video goes further. What does the word "want" say to the so-called Constant Observer, the part of us that is always listening, noticing and taking note at a subconscious level?
Want is a word of lack, a word that enhances (and that's the wrong word!) our belief that we are, somehow, victims of everyday life rather than creators of it.
Cast your mind back a couple of weeks to when we first talked about allowing. And know this: we will enjoy our best moments, perfect moments, we will excel to heights beyond the reckoning of our wanting minds, we will live our very best lives, when we allow ourselves lose to create and accept what is best for us. And that is, always, way beyond wanting.
Ultimately, it comes down to allowing and accepting. In normal crazy people's easily understood (but rarely life-changing) language: happiness is wanting what you already have.
I bet you that you haven't acted upon last week's Quick Tip! And I'm not going to repeat it, go into the Archive below and look it up!!
The key point is that we need to provide ourselves with the space to allow ourselves understand what is best for us - a concept that the normal thinking mind doesn't understand.
That means we need to meditate, meditate and... meditate again - and again.
So, in fact, there are two quick tips this week: meditate and go check up the Archive!
