Oh don't we just... because, after all, we're all only human! And we all need a little encouragement - take a few minutes to watch this week's video.

 

 

 

 

This Week's Reflection

 

We're all only human. We fall down, we trip up - or, more to the point, actually we normally trip ourselves up.

And that's why we need to do and remember to constantly do the little things that ensure that, when we do trip up, we pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, never look back and keep moving forward.

And what you might not realise is that we need to be constant and consistent in picking ourselves up and encouraging ourselves. You might wonder why we need to take this approach given that, when we meditate even a little our brain starts restructuring itself. Why, when meditation is "like riding a bike" (you never go backwards!) why we need constant and consistent encouragement?

Well, we've got a lot going against us! First of all, we're surrounded by what a client recently described to me as zombies - normal crazy people dead from the neck up, clawing at us to sink down to their level. And, secondly, we've 1.8m years evolution working against us - that's a lot of baggage!

That means that we need to be disciplined, persistent, constant and consistent. And, when we fall, get up and get going again (it isn't starting over!).

Encouragement is required. As we said above, we don't trip, we trip ourselves up. In the same way, we give ourselves the courage to carry on when we encourage ourselves... it is something we do or give to ourselves, a choice we make, affirmative action, if you will.

But there's more. Why wait to trip up to encourage yourself? The more you do it when you don't need it, the less you'll need it! So, go on, take minute, take a deep breath and live a little or a lot.

 

 

 

This Week's Quick Tip

 

When we fall we can lose heart. We can feel weary. But it's a feeling that passes (like everything else) very quickly when you...

Pull yourself up to your full height (yes, even if you're sitting down, do it now) and take (and appreciate) a couple of full-body, deep, slow breaths.

And, even if you think you don't need it right now, every time you do it you encourage yourself to go further. So, do it now and live a little... or a lot!
