It's an inevitable part of our everyday lives - temptation. But, even if you succumb to it, doesn't matter. What matters is what you do next!
This week's video is designed to act as something of an early-warning system for you - to warn you of the inevitable or, more to the point, to arm you for the inevitable.
And, because it's inevitable, we can be sure, right here, right now, that both you and I are going to be tempted to sit on the couch by the fire instead of going to the gym; have that extra glass of wine or drink on a week night; put off taking some apparently uncomfortable action that we need to take in the pursuit of our goal... make up your own list!
You and I are tempted every day. And that temptation only comes from one place... within. As we've said before Christmas, everything bad starts with a thought, even though the thought itself might seem, at the time, pretty harmless.
So, let's take it for granted. We will be tempted and we will fall. The question is: will what started with a thought end with a thought? Will we start judging ourselves, feeling guilty, frustrated... make up your own list!
Or will we do the right thing? Succuming to temptation, falling of the horse, whatever you want to call it, doesn't matter a damn. What matters is what we do next.
The secrets to success and happiness are, in the following order: clarity of mind, belief, discipline, patience and perseverance.

We're in the valley between Christmas and New Year - a time when most people look forward.
Don't. Look to the experience of just this moment. This is when you live your life, only here, only now. Yes, you might take this down-time to set goals for the New Year - but the goals will only be meaningful and achievable if set with a clear and present mind... in the present.
So, allow yourself to, as the French would say, profit from these few quiet days - there'll be time enough for doing what it takes to bring your goals to fruition... when the time is right.

One of my earliest clients, in Ireland, many years ago, owned a chain of gyms. He told me that, in his business, marketing campaigns tended to run in cycles of six weeks... because, by the end of one six-week cycle, the new signups would have deserted the gym and returned to the couch!
In other words, by Valentine's Day, 96% of people - otherwise know to us as Normal Crazy People - will have thrown their hat at their so-called New Years Resolutions.
But it's worse than that: most will have fallen at either the first or second hurdle - in those days (I've no idea whether or not it's different now, though I could hazard a fairly accurate guess), a new member visited the gym twice. Not twice a week or twice a month. Twice... full stop.
