Bet you that you didn't know that you're walking around with an immediately accessable unlimited power source! Normal everyday life probably doesn't feel that way but...

 

 

 

 

This Week's Reflection

 

Life tends to kick the stuffing out of us. Or, should I say, we think that life's kicking the stuffing out of us - ot certainly often feels like that regardless of the fact that, if we were mindful enough and took a step back, we'd realise that all the stuff that happens to us actually happens for us.

But, on an average (normal crazy) day, it often doesn't feel like that.

And that's what makes it so important that we do take that step back: not to think about what's going on (there's absolutely no point whatsoever in that, you know that already); not to reflect on how you're acting or reacting; not do do anything other than simply... be. That's the step back that we all need to take.

When you be (I know, that's bad grammar but you know what I mean), the fog of thought dissipates and you're left, well you're left with just yourself. Sometimes you'll only experience this fleetingly, sometimes it will be, as someone said to me recently, a "wow moment". Either way, the experience is such that we begin to understand that there is something within that, unleashed, will change everything: everything about who we think we are or perceive ourselves to be; everything about how we thought the world works (it works in a synchronistic and spontaneous way); everything we thought we knew about anything or everything.

You need to let this inner power out into the open. And, as you and I both know, there's only one way in which we can do that... by allowing ourselves to be present through the regular practice of proper meditation.

What do I mean be proper meditation? Well, you need to be still, focused on the reality of what your senses are telling you, non-judgementally. You do not need to be anything bordering on the "motivational", you simply need to practice... being.

 

 

 

This Week's Quick Tip

 

Practice a little being (have a look at this week's Reflection) with your eyes wide-open.

You could be having a cup of coffee: observe what's going on around you, who you see, what they're doing... just observe. You could be sitting at your computer: eyes up for a moment, look around you, take a deep breath or two. You could be washing the dishes: feel the temperature of the water, its wetness (I know, how often do we notice that really?), the texture of the dish in your hand.

Notice, observe, experience. Live a little because, in living a little we open up the opportunity to live a lot.

Normal @%!*#y People!

 

Like most people (I hope and suspect), I've opted to receive all my bank and financial documents digitally... save the planet and all that good stuff!

So, why oh why have I just received a two-page letter by post, from my bank, telling me that I won't get my annual statement for home insurance by post because I opted to receive it digitally.

To add insult to injury, the last time I did receive a paper statement it was one page long. This letter way twice that size.

Digitize that!
