Why have you got goals, objectives or even ideas about the kind of life - or day - you want? We get tangled up in what, when and how when why is the most important question...

 

 

 

 

This Week's Reflection

 

What's your life all about? Not sure? Perhaps you haven't got a clue! Or, perhaps, you're off down the other end of the spectrum, buried in the thought-created minefield of figuring out the when or, worst of all, the how.

Let's make the question easier: what's your day all about? Today, I mean. Surely you have an idea of why you got out of bed this morning. Or, if you're one of those people who thinks that they're not a morning person and the early morning was something of a blur, what's this part of your day about?

Let's make it simpler again: why are you here now? After all, your life is not just lived now, now is all you have. And, if you are unsure about why you're here now, it doesn't really bode well for the next now or the one after that, does it?

I assume that you have a sense of what happiness and peace of mind are like or could be like. I'm probably right in that assumption because, for starters, there isn't a person on the face of the earth who hasn't glimpsed happiness and peace of mind at some point, even if fleetingly or momentarily.

So, reflect on this: what would you love more or, more consistently, in your everyday experience of life?

The more we allow ourselves become aware of why we're here - or, to put it another way, the purpose of our life - the more we are likely to move in that direction.

 

 

 

This Week's Quick Tip

 

Stop, give yourself a break - a couple of minutes will do.

Appreciate where you are. If that seems too difficult, appreciate the fact that you're breathing in and out. Appreciate the fact that you've given yourself the gift of reading this and taking this pause.

Appreciation is a little step further down the road towards experiencing the life that you'd love than gratitude. So breathe in your life and appreciate being you as you are in the here and now.
