We're not talking about how Normal Crazy People talk about "making the most" of things... we're talking about creating the best out of every now. This is entirely up to you.

This Week's Reflection

No doubt, somewhere along the way, you'll have heard the expression "making the best of a bad lot". No doubt there are varying versions of this.

That's what I want to start with in this week's Reflection because, very often or regularly in fact, live throws us "a bad lot" - life is full of ups and downs and very few days are without their challenges.

But, when confronted by a challenge, what's the best way to respond? Well, the worst way is to react... always. Because reaction is an automated response, from an automated mind that simply does not nor could not know what is actually going on.

Instead, confronted by any less-than-ideal situation, we need to pause, clear our head and let our presence of mind inform us: inform us of what is actually happening (as I said a normally-minded reaction cannot know this) and, then, what we need to do and how best to do it.

Sometimes, the best thing to do is... nothing. Crap often passes of its own accord!

But, when we do act from a clear and present perspective, we will always, always do the right thing in the least effortful way. In this way, we can create a Perfect Moment from an imperfect one. And that, in itself, moves us ever forward.

Let's shift gears, though. What about creating what's best for you in each and every now - because now is what's really important (regardless of how insignifant what's going on might appear to be) - now is where we live our lives and do our thing.

In exactly the same way as I explained how clarity and presence enables us act appropriately in challenging siutations, the very same clear and present state of mind will always, always enable us do what is best in the here and now to move us effortlessly towards what is best for us.

Re-read that last sentence - it is the key fact of life.

This Week's Quick Tip

Are you clear and present now?

By simply reading the above sentence... you're here. Regardless of where you were or what state of mind you were in, in the now just before you read that sentence, you are here now. And that is crucial.

So, throughout today, check in. Ask yourself "Am I clear and present now?"

Soon you'll find yourself self-checking - and that will effortlessly bring a flow and balance to your life, now to now.

Normal @%!*#y People!

Trying to be helpful, the hotel we booked in Bordeaux sent us details of the closest carpark.

We arrived in Bordeaux early afternoon we a clear idea of where our hotel was but, based on their advice, I decided to look for signs to the recommended carpark. There were signs for every carpark in Bordeaux (as there are in all French cities) at pretty much every junction. But none for the recommended carpark. Not a single one!

We arrived at check-in (a little later!) to be asked "Is everthing good with you today?" Lisa explained that everything wasn't quite perfect(!) - there were no signs to the recommended carpark.

"Ah well, that's probably your fault!" the receptionist explained "You should have come into Bordeaux the back way - there are loads of signs when you're coming from that direction!"

On a related normal crazy point, our GPS thought we were in Brittany - it seems to have been stuck on that idea for our entire holiday!!
