THE MIND BOGGLES!!
Coaching Videos & Tips - June 23 2022 No. 762
In the midst of life, we are in death! Oh, charming, fantastic, wonderful, even aladocious!! But this week's video has something of a wake-up call of a message for you.
How often do we get out of bed in the morning completely unready for the day ahead? You know, that flat Monday morning feeling? And it isn't that we're faced with some existential challenge during the course of the coming day - it's just that we find it hard to "motivate" ourselves... whatever that actually means!
And, yet, this is it! This is your life. If you're not going to go all in and live it today, when were you thinking of starting? And just how presumptious are you that you think you have all the time in the world to start living?
In practice, what does living your life to the full mean, today, right now?
At it's most basic level, we should be enjoying ourselves and encouraging ourselves - the en is more than suggestive... these are things that you do to yourself: you give you the joy in your life, you give you the courage to do what you need to do to get the where you want to go.
In other words, living today, right now, like you mean it is an entirely internal "process" - it has absolutely nothing to do with what's going on around you, who you have to deal with, what challenges today throws at you.
It's all about you, looking after you, living up to you, doing what you need to do and allowing what's inside out into a waiting world.
Slow down - no, actually, bring yourself to a complete full stop. Take five!
Re-mind yourself that this is your life, right here, right now. Re-mind yourself that, whatever you're doing now that's what you have to do - so you had might as well do it, to the full, as if you mean it.
Re-mind yourself of the important people and things in your life. Re-mind yourself to ensure that you give them due attention today as well.

In the deepest and darkest depths of the recession following the 2008 Crash, Steve's business struggled to survive. But that was the least of his worries - the bank wanted to repossess his house too!
He wrote about how it feels to wander through amongst the slot-machines at 2.00am in the morning in Las Vegas - what, for him, would be the perfect moment that could only happen if all else was well.
Some months later, whilst others less focussed were indeed losing their homes, Steve was moving office - he was downsizing but the business was still standing - when, out of a tax book fluttered that perfect moment he had written.
That just happened to be the day that he and his best friend had booked their trip to Las Vegas.
As I keep saying, this is how it works.
