Coaching Videos & Tips - January 6 2022 No. 738

Who knows what today will bring? Each and every day presents us with a new set of nows - nows in which anything could happen - nows to which we must turn up to make our lives really and truly happen for us.

This Week's Reflection

Many years ago, I received a letter (yes, it was that long ago!) from someone who had signed up for what was at the time a two-day workshop in Dublin. The letter read:

"Owing to unforeseen circumstances, I will not be able to attend to workshop for the foreseeable future."

Never mind the mindless contradiction that that sentence contains (it could be this week's Normal Crazy People story! The key point is that we can foresee nothing at all.

Today is a new day - a unique day - it hasn't happened before and it will never happen again. Of course, to the normal mind, used normally, today will look and feel like most others. But that's only the normal mind's mindlessness.

Neither you nor I have any idea what might happen today. But the one thing I do know is that I will miss today if I don't do what it takes to turn up to today. When I do that, come what may, I am armed and ready for action - something that the normally minded cannot take!

More importantly, when I turn up, I am a player. I am working with today's flow of energy - including the manner in which I may well encounter the blocking energy of others or the situations that their mindlessness creates. Being a player enables me create - create calm out of chaos, solutions out of problems, opportunities out of the moments in which I do and say the right things, in the right way, at the right time.

All that said, there is one thing that I can foresee... and you can foresee it too. When we set our minds to achieve our goals and objectives, we enable that part of our mind that enables us to those right things, in the right way, at the right time, foresee the outcome... as if it had already come to pass.

This Week's Quick Tip

Read today's Reflection... and take a pause to ensure that you have turned up to the here and now. If you've missed a few (or many) earlier heres and nows, it doesn't matter. What matters is what you do to ensure that you turn up to this one, right here and now.

And, no doubt, you'll stumble again as the day progresses (we're all only human!). That doesn't matter either. What matters is that you pick yourself up.
