Now we get to the heart of the matter. Now we begin to understand that the "real you" could not be anything but enough. Understanding is one thing, experiencing it...
I recollect a conversation with a client about six or seven months after I had first met her. "When we first met in January" she said "I marvelled at the science, got the key idea, understood the concepts... but, on Wednesday, I knew". The experience of being enough is the proverbial game-changer. It's one thing to understand, it's a completely differnt thing to know.
It's not a belief, it's more than just a feeling, it's an overwhelming dawning of both the humbling and uplifting experience that I am - you are - a tiny but inexpendable integral part of this marvellous universe of our's.
Most will experience this for the first time during meditation - that's the power of the practice. Some will experience it increasingly in their everyday lives - when that happens it's transformational - everyone who walks this journey will ultimately live from this knowing.
This issue for most is that this doesn't happen overnight. We talked about "wanting" last week - most people "want it now" - and this just doesn't happen like that. You've got to walk the journey.
The other issue, if it is one, is that, with so much science under our belt that confirms the transformational power of meditation right down at our neural roots, we can get lost in the science and fail to let ourselves go so that we can experience the "spiritual". Now there's a word I don't use very often! And, perhaps you know why. Suffice it to say that, when you know, you know that there is so much more to you than ever met your eye.
We've got a bit of elbow room over the next week. No commuting, no emails, no meetings. Perhaps we have other "challenges" (not every family Christmas is not a normal family Christmas) but you have the opportunity to put some time aside to do either or both of the following:
Meditate for longer than usual (assuming you're meditating!!) and/or spend some time (a couple of hours) simply sitting quietly observing the world as it passes by.

The local school, just up the end of our narrow country road (that's an important piece of information!) has shut its doors for the Christmas holidays. The little kids were all excited as they came out of class with the Christmas cards they'd obviously painted in class. The little kids were all excited - the parents all fired up.
There's a constant battle, I was going to say between residents and the parents but, actually, the fighting's all between parents and, well, parents - as they vie for a parking space along the narrow country road where... parking is forbidden.
The municipality built a carpark for the purpose but it appears that 40-50mts is too far to walk - not for the kids who are bursting with energy but for the parents!
And so it was on Tuesday, that two parents' cars, locked in a game of chicken, resulted in one of the cars getting wedged in a hedge. The Police had to be called!!
Ah... adults!
