This Week's Reflection

 

If any day could be a holiday - have a look at this week's video! - could any now be the now that changes your life? And, if that's the case, what do we need plans for?

 

The whole idea of planning is a bit, well, normal - everyone either has a plan or thinks that they need one. And, yet, the moment the normally-minded person sits down to plan, they have limited themselves, constrained the possibilties, simply by virtue of the fact that they're thinking about what they need to do to get to where they think they want to go.

 

How do you plan in a world where nobody knows what's going to happen next? Are those with a five-year plan so presumpuous that they'll be around in five years? What happens when, to get to where you want to go, your plan exposes difficult choices or the kind of action that requires bravery or courage?

 

And, then, there's the joker in the pack - the one we mentioned in last week's Podcast - what happens when it dawns on you, given previous experience, that your plan might just be... unrealistic?

 

Every single question above comes down to thinking. All that's best in life comes from doing. And we can only know what's best to do when the circumstances present themselves in the present moment.

 

No doubt, you've heard the old joke "If you want to make God laugh, tell her your plans!" - a one-liner that sums up the whole nonsense of the thinking mind thinking that it knows how to get what you think you want.

Choose your mood now - right now.

 

Regardless of what is going on around you, what's going on within is what matters. And what's going on within is entirely up to you and the choice that you make right now.

 

So, choose to be present, to smell the coffee, to appreciate the breath in your lungs, to be at peace in the moment.

 

Because, what's going on within creates the life that you experience moment-to-moment.
