THE MIND BOGGLES!! |
Change Your Life | May 22nd 2025 No. 913 |
I recollect a conversation with a good - and, sadly, long-lost - friend, perhaps, 27 or 28 years ago.
We were talking about what he described as "the mechanics of being" - how to do what we must do to stay in the here and now during the course of the day.
He said to me "Are you suggesting that what we need, in each and every now, is a 'first time' experience?" And, yes, that is what we really need.
That suggests that some heavy lifting is involved - too much heavy lifting to be able to do the important things that we're supposed to be doing today (have a look at this week's Quick Tip).
In fact, in reality, it is effortless once we have practiced - a little, not a lot. Our practice starts with our morning meditation (have a look at the end of this week's Video) and, then, goes on into the little mini-meditations or calling ourselves to attention that we should be doing during the course of the day until... that becomes second nature.
The you find yourself catching yourself marvelling at something 96% of people would consider "normal". Or, perhaps, then you simply find yourself.
A fresh set of eyes is what's called for today... or, in fact, every day.
When you're not immersed in the important things that you're doing today, take time to visually observe anything and everything. Look, see, do not judge.
And, when you are immersed in doing the important things to day, just let if flow.
