Our world is full of noise and distraction. As a result, we spend swathes of our day doing things that, at best, add no value. More likely, things like "doom-scrolling", online shopping, social media and misinformation destroy our experience of being and dehumanise us. And, of course, if we've access to none of the above, why then... we'll distract ourselves with our own personal noise.
We live in a world where, if we want somthing, we want it now - we want it delivered in 24hrs by Amazon Prime! We've fogotten the virtue of patience. That leads to a rumbling frustration when things aren't delivered on what we think of as "on time".
We've talked before about how people get frustrated when their Perfect Moments don't arrive at speed. And I've explained how a Perfect Moment will arrive at the perfect moment, otherwise it wouldn't be a Perfect Moment.
We need to slow down, experience more of the moment and let the good stuff Flow - it will when we let it, the Universe is never late, the Universe always deliver right on time.
Slowing down involves a little unplugging - firstly, from our own thoughts, we achieve this through meditation. Secondly, by unplugging from some of the stuff that we do that we either shouldn't be doing at all or stuff that is patently bad for us.
Slowing down requires that we come to our senses, smell the coffee, marvel at the clouds as they flit across the sky, take heart from the dawn chorus of birdsong that is all around us at this time of year.
Slowing down means living a little - or a lot.
