We're exlporing the fundamentals of caring both in this week's video and podcast - we're coming at it from a couple of diverse angles.
So, for starters, I'd suggest - and that's all that I can do - that you make a little time to watch, listen and then, perhaps, reflect.
This stuff is important because, in the cut and thrust of everyday life, we have evidence aplenty that nodoby cares: about themselves, those for whom they claim to care or, indeed, for the state of their lives and the world at large.
All the nobodies to which I refer are, of course, "normal crazy people" - you know them, you know what I'm talking about. If they gave a damn about anything, they'd behave - I was going to say "differently" but, actually, they'd behave instead of automatically misbehaving.
Now, of course, you may be one of these people - we've all been there. You may lapse into normality from time to time - we're all only human too.
That's why we've got today's important reminder - in the video. That's why we're exploring "caring too much" in this week's podcast and that's why we need to tease these things out - if we don't, on our journey, there's a danger that we might take ourselves for granted and become a little complacent - a dangerous place to be.
We need to keep ourselves on our toes - but not in the stress-ready way that nature intended through the evolutionalty process - we need to keep ourselves on our toes by being properly focused and present. And that is all that we need to do because, from focus and presence, comes awareness, understanding, action and the impact that we must make in our own lives and, indeed, the lives of others.
I've a quesion for you: how committed are you to caring for yourself?
How does your commitment translate into what you've done so far today to care for yourself?
OK, that's two questions! But here's the kicker...
What are you going to do, this minute, to show you care?
