THE MIND BOGGLES!! |
Change Your Life | November 20th 2025 No. 939 |
If you explore this week's episode of my podcast, To Succeed Just Let Go, yes, we're back, you'll appreciate the importance of taking nothing at face value - what you see is not what you get if you're using your mind normally.
And, sadly, that's not a big "if" - it's very easy to be seduced into the comfort of, for example, dealing with people without taking the trouble to get to know them before you're in too deep. It's too easy to think that you know what you're doing if you don't take the trouble to know, for sure, what's going on.
And "taking the trouble" it really is for anyone using their mind as nature intended - on autopilot.
It takes effort to get to know people, effort to get to the bottom of what appears on the surface, effort if... you don't know how to allow this happen effortlessly.
There's no effort in being able to read and know someone, there's no effort in knowing what's really going on and there's certainly no effort involved in doing the right thing, behaving in the most effective way, or saying what needs to be said.
There's no effort at all required when you're present - using your mind in a way not intended by nature, using your mind in a novel way that, in effect, leads to a very personal, liberating, evolutionary quantum leap.
As you'll have already guessed, this effortlessness requires practice but not in real time when confronted by whatever's going on (or whatever you think is going on!). This practice is undertaken in the peace, quiet and safety of your own private space when you sit down quietly, allow your body settle and your mind still. This practice is meditation.
And neuroscience is very clear - regular meditation does indeed lead to a personal evolutionary quantum leap. With regular meditation, the brain's structures, functionalties and interconnections change. And that's what allows the effortlessness flow.
On and off today, remind yourself that you may have no idea as to what is going or as to whom your are speaking. We're very easily lured and lulled into the automaticity that gets us through the day.
Reminding yourself of this is a key step in the ongoing development of your awareness.
And awareness of the moment is really everything we're talking about.
